Telex launches Airman 7+ deluxe, ultra-lightweight passive noise reduction headset
  • Deluxe headset for commercial and business aviation communications – the passive noise reduction / non-ANR version of the top-of-the-line Airman 8+
  • Ultra-lightweight design with premium features for a step-up in comfort, durability and ease of use
  • Enhanced passive noise reduction helps to reduce fatigue while still allowing pilot to hear engine, conversation, etc.

Burnsville, MN, August 26, 2024 – Telex is pleased to introduce the Airman 7+ deluxe, ultra-lightweight passive noise reduction headset, the latest member of the world’s most successful professional aviation headset family. The Airman 7+ is the passive noise reduction / non-ANR version of the top-of-the-line Airman 8+, with the same upscale finish and robust-but-lightweight form factor.

The trusted choice of commercial and business aviation pilots everywhere, Airman models are designed to provide an optimal combination of lightweight comfort, compact form factor and excellent sound quality for turbine aircraft cockpit communications – all enabling the user to focus on flying. The product lineup includes additional passive noise reduction (Airman 750) and ANR (Airman 850, Airman 8 and Airman 8+) headset options. As with all Airman models, the Airman 7+ offers an exceptional price-to-performance ratio.

A range of new features and refined design elements make the Airman 7+ the most comfortable and best-performing non-ANR headset Telex has ever made. Larger ear cushions improve the acoustic seal for better passive noise reduction, making the Airman 7+ the perfect choice for pilots who prefer a headset that can reduce fatigue-inducing levels of background noise while still allowing the engines and conversation to remain audible, for a less isolated cockpit experience than with an ANR model.

The Airman 7+ is easy to wear, even on the longest flights. Though its small size and on-the-ear design ensure its weight remains ultra-low at just 125 grams (4.4 oz), fit and feel have been upgraded in comparison to legacy Airman models, with larger head and ear cushions for superior stability, inwardly angled glider arms, and earcup rotation stabilization. The headband is made of durable stainless steel with dual-axis pivot points. Users can select between large headband pads in soft leatherette or choose smaller ones available as accessory, based on personal preference. The flexible boom-mounted microphone may be positioned on the left or right side, without detaching from the headset. Clear voice transmission is ensured via a high-quality amplified electret microphone capsule with noise cancellation.

The Airman 7+ is FAA TSO-C139a approved, EASA compliant, and meets RTCA DO-160G and DO-214A standards. The Airman 7+ is available with 2PJ or XLR5 plugs.

As a manufacturer, Telex is committed to environmental sustainability and recognizing our part in working towards reduction of our planet’s carbon footprint.
